About us

GBD is an internationally active company based in Berlin. Expertise accumulated over more than 35 years flows together here in the planning, production and evaluation of our samples.

We have continuously expanded our portfolio and adapted it to current clinical and epidemiological issues. We are successful in this only because we are scientifically networked and flexibly adapt to current developments.

Our team and our working environment have also grown continuously. Currently, a team of around 20 employees works with great dedication and care in our facility with over 1,000 square meters of laboratory, office and storage space.

Our Quality Policy

The aim of our work is to contribute to the continuous quality improvement and standardization of laboratory diagnostics. Our focus is on the production of control samples for viral immunology and viral genome detection. The production of these control samples involves samples for interlaboratory comparisons. In order to specifically promote quality here, we produce selected sensitivity and specificity panels as well as panels for geno/subtyping and resistance determination of infectious agents for our customers, among other things.

A good working atmosphere, individual and ergonomic workplace design, performance-related pay and regular internal and external training courses serve to maintain and further develop the expertise and performance of our employees. This is intended to promote quality awareness, motivation and commitment among the workforce. Transparency in dealing with mistakes is of particular importance. Recognizing mistakes and understanding problems is seen in GBD as opportunities for improvement. Every employee is called upon to actively participate in the detection of defects and to contribute to their elimination - in order to produce the best quality and to avoid or reduce environmental impacts.
